SURAU VANDALISM AND CHEAP POLITICS

Recent incident in Seremban involving a group of teenagers vandalizing a surau shows that our inter religious sensitivity gone from good to bad. Such incident never been reported for the past 30 years, from Tun Mahathir era to Tun Abdullah era. Suddenly emerge recently in the middle of new political tsunami which a new alliance claimed to promote a new non race based politics. Eventually we didn't get what we expect or told to be expected by this new alliance.

What had triggered such incident however is unknown. Was our school system that work for us this past 50 years suddenly break down? Well what u see is what u get. Apparently, the way i see it, this is what resulted from unethical politics. In every profession there is ethical code need to be followed not just to keep that respective profession professional but to prevent damages to the public around it.

Over react politics, stirring racial and religious harmony for votes are cheap. Such politic is irresponsible. They'd go for anything and cross any lines, betting anything at stake including what we in a multiracial multi cultural society treasured most, racial harmony and religious respect. However, I'm not pointing this to any groups because we can leave the finger-pointing to the politician.

It is us as human and Malaysian in respect of the month of independence cum Ramadhan to make our stand and stated our limits of sensitiveness toward others so that this land we borrowed from our children will be returned to them in one piece in peace.
